Orbis Records
In mid 2009 I decided to start my own label. Why? For a lot of different reasons. One of the main reasons was getting fed up with all the bullsh*t of labels turning me down when I knocked on their door with demos.
Maybe I’m not the best skilled producer but the main reason they kept refusing me was that my music was to deep for their label. We’re in a time that labels have to fight for their existence, and I understand that, but when sales takes controle over the music… then is the time to put your pride aside an decide what you’re going to do with those tracks.
I got the feeling I’d never be a member of a family. Nothing was pointing in that direction, nor a future release of stuff I feel good about for more than 100%.
Let’s be honest, it’s all about being unique (as in guys who really rule when it comes to sound and arrangement) or it’s simply plain old ass kissing. Nothing more, nothing less.
So, … I simply started up my own label called Orbis Records. A platform for deep techno. As stripped down & hypnotic & as wide as the box can get. As long as I enjoy producing music and I find good artists I really care about, Orbis Records keeps on going. We don’t care about sales, We care about that one person that holds on to a special experience or thought thanks to our music.
You feel me? That’s what we are all about, deep deep inside.
