I’m not sure if I will delete my account or not but then again… you got to be anywhere as a DJ.

Info :

The Search for the “Manchurian Candidate”: vast secret mind-control experiments.
Based on a documentary on National Geographic and inspired by influencing the mind, Mr. Mau composed a track in the deepest of the night that scared the hell out of him. Mind-control has been used in war and several assassination assignments, but was always kept secret by instances we don’t even know about. Capturing that same thought, Mr. Mau started experimenting with music so bad he ended up with a track called ‘The Manchurian Candidate’. One you never heard before. Imagine walking in a dark alley with someone following you and you have nowhere to go. Goosebumps!
He tells the story in three tracks:

‘The Manchurian Candidate’ is the start of a breathtaking musical story. A hand picked person gets brainwashed and gets an intensive training. His “Assignment’ is his burden. And the last thing he’ll ever do is ‘Execute & Disappear’.
However, hypnotised subjects do not lose consciousness, control of their behavior, nor their normal scruples, … there is something manchurian about this release for sure. Experience it yourself.
Previews @ http://soundcloud.com/orbisrecords and http://www.myspace.com/orbisrecords

Feedback :

Jamie Behan (Bastardo Electrico Recordings, Subject Detroit, NG415 – UK)
“Thanks for sending this. Proper old-school techno. “The Assignment” will fit perfectly into my sets. Full support and will play this weekend”

Samuli Kemppi (Pakkas-Levyt, Prologue, Mote-Evolver, … – Finland)
Really like ‘The Assignment’. Other tracks are also good, but The Assignment is my favorite. Will play this a lot! Thanks.

Jeroen Search (Mission6277/Axis, Ion, Outland records, Smallville records,… – NL)
Great stuff. “The Manchurian Candidate” is my favorite.

Grovskopa (Pohjola Records – SWE)
I shall enjoy this

Franco Cangelli (Mowar Records, Aesthetik Records – BE)
Loving this, especially the eerie and drugged out feel of The Manchurian Candidate. The Assignment and Execute and Disappear could easily be mistaken for a Jeff Mills production, which says everything about Mr. Mau’s productions. Quality dark techno. (Too bad it ain’t vinyl…)

Ozka (Aesthetik Records, Labrynth Records, Mowar Records – BE)
The Manchurian Candidate is seriously mental and you are immediately absorbed by its dissonant waves. This is a very deep track that leads to a kind of meditative state… it really takes me far away from Planet Earth. This one is absolutely brilliant Dries ! Love it !

The assignment is raw and nervous. Really interesting the way you can keep a tune captivating from start to end with so little elements… and it proves again that a reduced toolbox can give birth to the best structures. Serious techno killer !

Execute and Disappear is another dark tune. Like if you’d have to go through a suffocating tunnel full of small sinister creatures and you never see the end of it. Hypnotic and mental piece that could be described in one single word: Pressure !

DJ Kr!z (Token Records – BE)
Execute & Disappear for me!

Arrestar (Token Records – BE)
Great release!

Untold (Epic Depth Remix by Mr. Mau)

Feedback :

Steve Bicknell (Cosmic Records – UK)
Thank you very much. Untold pt2 has gone straight into my current Dj set. So brilliant to get some fine pure techno

Kazuumi Ishii (Electronic Directory – JP)
Thanks for sending this over. This is a great release, all tracks are dope. Manifest is my pick if I have to choose – I like the hypnotic atmosphere. Keep that dope music coming man.

Jamie Behan (Subject Detroit, Bastardo Electrico, Projekt Radio – IRL)
Thanks for sending this! Great release. Proper techno. Love the hypnotic groove of Chaotic Terrain and the melancholic yet uplifting synths and strings in Manifest. 5/5 and full support

Len Faki (Figure, Ostgut Ton, Monoïd, … GER)
thanks for the link, chaotic terrain will work perfectly during noon time at berghain

Samuli Kemppi (Pakkas-Levyt, Prologue, Mote-Evolver, … – Finland)
Mr. Mau’s remix of ‘Untold’ and ‘Chaotic Terrain’ are my favorites. Will play both of them on radio and on gigs. Good release.

Digital only? Would like to see this on wax.

Charlton Ravenberg (Return Records, Labrynth Records – UK)
Love this record!

Phone (Subsist Records – Valencia Spain)
Excelent release from Jeroen. All tracks are nice especially untold pt1 +pt2. The Mr. Mau remix is beauty.

DJ Tomaz (National Belgian Radio Stu Bru – Switch radio show – BE)
Strong release. I’m in love with Manifest. It’s an amazing beautiful track. it’s epic touch comes close to Entangled (PA Presents). Trippy with soul!

Franco Cangelli (Mowar Records, Aesthetik Records – BE)
Deep and hypnotic techno just the way i’d expect from jeroen search!

Ozka (Aesthetik Records, Labrynth Records, Mowar Records – BE)
Chaotic terrain: brilliant ! Kind of mental track that reminds you that space is not so far from us… also reminds me about a wicked record i still play today: http://www.discogs.com/Unit-3-Exhale/release/71531

Every note/sound from the Manifest track is just delicious… Sounds like Jeroen lets his heart speak like never before on this track ! Pure beauty. Mr. Mau’s remix takes on a journey through deep and hypnotic atmospheres… love this version.

DJ Psytox (Coincidence Records – BE)
Chaotic Terrain for the win! Love the darkness in this one. Untold is also pretty great once it gets on its way, deepness for caves and afterhours

Best Orbis so far for me. Keep it up, Mau.

Roebin De Freitas (Curle, Meakusma, Kubism, … – BE)
Forever fluctuating, sometimes twitchy but remaining groovy this EP sounds like what Jeroen Search is all about. No wonder Jeff Mills picked him up for his own label. This record has Detroit written all over it! Must have!

DJ Kr!z (Token Records – BE)
Untold rmx rocks. I like.

Hi Guys,

I’ve always been holding back on the live issue but I think the time is now! I think I’m ready for this next step. DJ’ing has always been my first passion but since I started to play with hardware and software in the year 2005 it has been more appealing then ever: a first live act with only self-made material.

Actually the live act was planned some weeks ago but got rescheduled to 12/05.

Looking forward to this one.
Expect some UK & Detroit inspired techno and as stripped as it can be
Btw, keep an eye on the Orbis Records page, we’re releasing number 3 real soon!

Dear friends & followers,

It had been playing in my mind for some while and I finally made up my mind, … I’m working on my first live act.

I’m really looking forward to this new step. Something new, something different and something to set the tone for my vision of minimal techno and sound.

When ? The date for the party hasn’t been set yet but I keep the honours to the organisers. 2010, that’s for sure.

Free release on Return Records – http://www.return-records.com

Beside this big news, I’m also excited to announce my next release (real soon).
Return Records is one of the unknown small & above all free techno labels hosted in Holland. Labelowner Charlton (Ravenberg) tries to provide some quality stuff in this “elektro-clash” minded world and he delivers for sure !

I’m very proud to contribute to his label with 2 tracks accompanied by 2 remixes.

Info :
Orbis Records is probably one of those underground labels Belgium never had until now.
The label will provide dark, deep and stripped down hypnotic techno music as wide as the box can get.

‘Thinking outside the box is our priority’ is possibly the most used sentence when it comes to label descriptions but we have no limits. Our priority is bringing deep, hypnotic and stripped down music that will please the partygoer as well as the record collector.

Our first release contains four tracks, created by Mr. Mau, that you can let loose on a crowd late at night.

Mr. Mau (Dries Bultynck) is a Belgian producer who knows what he wants. He has been playing his part in the Belgian underground techno scene a long time now and remains one of the few deejays that is still loyal to his sound: Dark, deep and hypnotic with a personal touch.

His mission is to constantly innovate himself, his deejay sets as well as his releases… and that will show in this release. Those that know his work on both Forteana and Labrynth Records, will get another release true to his sound. Familiar but again, different.

“The Chained Rythm” is a pure dancefloor corker. Dark and straightforward.

“When All Is Left” drags you into a higher state of consciousness and knocks you out of your rhythm at the right moment making you forget what planet you were from.

“They Knew What Was Coming” is the most experimental track of the release. A hypnotic melody combined with an offbeat rhythm accompanied by a deep bassline make the big picture a breathtaking track.

At last we have a very handy loop that you just have to try out: “What If”

Feedback :

Pacou (GER – Cache Records, Tresor)
Good tracks! Will play “Chained Rhythm” !

Phase (UK – Token Records, Inceptive Records)
Thanks for this. Nice stuff. Been playing “The Chained Rhythm” mostly.

Jeroen Search (NL – Downwards, Cache Records, Smallville Records)
“The Chained Rhythm” and “When All Is Left” are my favourites.

Michaelangelo (PT – Labrynth Records)
“The Chained Rhythm is my favorite. It has some nice crescendos throughout the music. Good solid track that i will definitely play in my sets.”

Maxi Cuenca (PL – Soleil Records)
I think ‘the chained rhythm’ is my favourite. I like the job overall, sounds raw/analogue enough and is solid builded to desereve been called good techno! so cheers, is a really good job. The loop sounds intresting as well as the other tracks, but as said before. I like it all.

Karl Beany (UK)
Many thanks for the promo CD, excellent stuff- I really like it especially the tracks “The Chained Rhythm” and “When all is left” but they are all great. A very good debut release. Congratulations to you for not only getting off your ass and doing a label but doing it with quality music, i wish you every success- my full support.

Tomaz (BE – Switch Stu Bru Belgian National Radio)
Great trippy techno, will play.

Kr!z (BE – Token Records)
Cool release. Would buy it if it came out on vinyl. A little bit too deep for my sets but this is definitely what a Mills or a Hood would play.

Franco Cangelli (BE – Mowar)
“Loving the drugged out sensation of ‘They Knew what was coming’. Nice build-up!
‘When all is left’ is great too. Hypno all the way!”

Roebin de Freitas / Kemiko Surimi (BE – Curle Records, Miniature Records)
“Mr. Mau brings us some hypnotic techno reminescent of what people like Damon Wild, DJ Missile and Innigo Kennedy were making around the turn of the century. These are throbbing and moody cycles you can launch onto a crowd deep in the night. Besides the very useful ‘what if’ loop, you can find a deep excursion into rhytmn explorations (They knew what was coming) and an absolute dance floor corker (The chained rhytmn). Top notch material!”

Evad Streaklov (BE – Memento Mori)
“Very strong debut release. I hear some Planetary Assault Systems influences and that’s never a bad thing. 4 techno tracks full of energy. My favourite one is “”The Chained Rhythm”". Dark and hypnotizing, the way I like it. Dungeon material. Will play!”
